"Little girls, like butterflies, need no excuse…"

This adorable little girl, E., is in Carter's class and our super FUN mini session was in honour of her 4th birthday!  Her equally adorable best friend, S., also in Carter's class, was there to provide entertainment off camera, as well as join in the fun near the end of our shoot.

Oh BABY!

Baby session: I come with studio gear and props and we spend time capturing both the cozy, homey essence of a new baby, as well as some of those irresistible, squishy close-ups.  This was a referral, so I didn't know this family until I arrived at their door with my aforementioned photo gear, but we quickly got down to business and here's the outcome of our hard work:)  Such a beautiful little trio!

This family is a repeat customer of mine, and oh so FUN to shoot!   So photogenic!  We found THE perfect location on THE perfect fall day and here was the result!  The perfect equation of amazing family photos!  Just a few of my faves:

"Sometimes the [smallest] things take up the most room in your heart…."

A sweet baby boy joined this family not too long ago!  I had the privilege of helping to celebrate his arrival with baby J.'s dad - a fire fighter colleague of my husband's, beautiful mom and spirited big sister!   We lucked out on a lovely late October day, so we spent part of our session outdoors enjoying Auburn Bay, as well as some fun shots inside the family's nearby home.   A few samples:

I am so thankful that I didn't lose my studio lighting in the flood!  That was one of the few things I brought upstairs before being evacuated.  In October, I decided to order some backdrops from Swanky Prints and they arrived just in time to try them out on this handsome fellow, who turned 1 a few days before!  

This was my first "real" studio session and it was a success!  Here are some faves:

thank Heaven for [little girls]

Oh, I just love family photo shoots!  Rarely do they run perfectly smoothly, but they are always enjoyable.  I get to see personalities shining through and hopefully do a good job of capturing them "on film".  This family was a blast!  Three of the most adorable, charismatic girlies you'll ever meet!  And, a mommy and daddy who love each other and love those girls too!  I had a bunch of favorites this time:

This delightful family was recently blessed with a baby boy, after three daughters.  It was an absolute pleasure to capture their busy but happy household.  Just a few favourites from the shoot:

Another beautiful family, another beautiful October afternoon for a photo shoot, and although this one didn't go as we had all planned, I don't mind!  All the better!  In my opinion, life should be captured as is - not a polished, posed and "fake" version.  In this case, the "perfect" photos included a baby girl coming down with a cold and a little boy with a fantastic stubborn streak.  And, I think they turned out wonderfully.  Real life for the F. family on this day.  Success!

"in the [glow] of the fading autumn afternoon, everything slows"….

This mid- October evening was PERFECT for shooting this beautiful couple and their dog.  The air was warm and the sun popped out just at the very end, just in time to capture a few simple but romantic shots against the fading light.  I thoroughly enjoyed spending my evening with J., J. and London, the dog!  Very happy with the results - here are a few of my faves!
